Description

The Frères de Pommes de Korrigans cuvée is based on a blend of organic apple varieties (including Kermerrien, Judor, Binet Rouge, Marie Ménard and Douce Moën ) hand-picked in the Northwest (Orne / Cotentin), then pressed on site before the juice is transported to Champagne for further production. The terroir — via these apples from Normandy orchards — brings dimension, acidity and aromatic complexity, while the vinification is inspired by that of sparkling wines: fermentation followed by aging in barrels for about 11 months on lees, then natural effervescence in the bottle and aging on lees, which gives a beautiful maturity, finesse and structure. On the palate, Frères de Pommes is distinguished by its straw-yellow color with golden highlights, a fruity nose (notes of ripe apple and citrus) and a fruity and balanced flavor, with just the right amount of effervescence — this cider offers a lovely freshness, a pleasant texture, and is easily approachable while revealing a rare vinosity for a cider.
