An intense straw yellow in color, the wine shows a musky nose with additional notes of hawthorn and acacia honey. On the palate it is full, dense, vigorous, and elegant with a fresh, balanced, and pleasurable finish. Serve at 10°, with fresh fruit (excellent with strawberries, peaches, and berry fruit in an infusion), fruitcake, cookies and sweet biscuits or other types of dry pastry.
Alfredo Prunotto gave his name and thirty-three years of his life to this renowned winery in Piedmont. Since 1989 it has been owned by the Antinori family, who have sought to boost the already high standards by extending the vineyard holdings, including plots in the de facto grands crus of Bric Turot and Bussia. The style is modern without being exaggerated: freshness of aroma and approachability of structure are viewed as positives. The grapes are hand-picked into small baskets from selected vineyards in the Canelli and Treiso areas, with soils of calcareous marine deposits. Harvest lasted for nearly a month and a half. This has typical Moscato characteristics on the nose, with hints of acacia honey and hawthorn.
