Description

Aged for almost a year on the full lees (in old 228- and 300-liter barrels), the 2024 Trabener Gaispfad is deep and intense yet also subtle on the nose that reveals charming smoke (or even bacon) aromas intertwined with saline notes of crushed slate. Round and elegant on the palate, this is a medium- to full-bodied, intense and textured but also finely phenolic Riesling with a mouth-filling character and a saline, crystalline and crunchy finish. This is an impressive Gaispfad with a moderate 11% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in March 2026. Wine Advocate 94 (2024)
