Mollydooker is an affectionate Aussie term for Left-As Sarah and Sparky Marquis wound their way through Fox Creek, Henrys Drive, Parsons Flat, Marquis Philips and Shirvington, they left a vivid trail of high-flavoured, medal-winning wines in their wake. After 10 years they took the final step, launching Mollydooker Wines in 2005. Mollydooker is an affectionate Aussie term for Left-Hander – because both Sarah and Sparky Marquis – the husband and wife winemaking team based in McLaren Vale Australia – are both lefties!

The winery is on the prime Seaview Ridge in McLaren Vale, South Australia, and the vines are grown according to the Marquis Vineyard Watering Programme to give the grapes the rich flavors that distinguish Mollydooker’s wines. Mollydooker makes Shiraz, Cabernet, Merlot and Verdelho. Five of their wines have been chosen in the Wine Spectator’s “Top 100,” and their Carnival of Love Shiraz has made the “Top 100” thrice!

Broad, spicy and dense at the core, with plum and blackberry fruit playing against toasty, spicy overtones and polished tannins as the finish persists. Drink now through 2019. Wine Spectator 91 (2013)
