For some reason, I tend to like this wine best in the most difficult vintages, like 2014 and now this edition. The 2017 Chardonnay Bramìto della Sala shows a more evident layer of richness and texture that you don't get in the thinner 2016 edition. This wine is partially barrel fermented (with malolactic fermentation), and the fruit comes from the younger vines at the Castello della Sala. A portion of the fruit represents leftovers that never made it into the top-shelf wine, Cervaro della Sala. This wine offers fantastic value and easy-drinking appeal. It's not too complicated, but it plays its few ace cards with an expert hand.Wine Advocate 89+ (2017)
