Found in 1991, which is a family property inherited by François Lumpp. The domaine owns Givry’s best 1er crus, where they are situated on the mid to upper level slopes of the rolling hillsides. Givry is one of the best but unsung red producing appellations in Côte Chalonnaise. It was believed that in 17th Century, King Henri IV loves Givry wines so much, and during that period, “le vin préféré du roi Henri IV” was printed on the wine labels, indicating Givry wines are preferred by King Henri IV.

The 2020 Givry 1er Cru Clos Jus is another of the more structured wines in the range, offering up aromas of cherries, blackberries, licorice and sweet soil tones, followed by a medium to full-bodied, taut and concentrated palate. Framed by powdery tannins that assert themselves on the finish, it will require a little patience. Wine Advocate 92+ (2020)
