The 2016 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru, a blend of vines born in Les Craipillot and La Perrière, has a very fragrant bouquet that is perhaps more floral than the village cru albeit cut from a similar cloth with those red cherry, strawberry and earthy scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity, mineral and tensile with energetic, slightly tart red fruit defining the persistent finish. There is a bewitching sense of harmony and composure imbued in this premier cru and it comes highly recommended. Wine Advocate 91-93
