Description

The Champagne Cuvée n° 745 by Jacquesson is a blend of wines from the same vintage (year 2017), completed with approximately 30% Vins de Réserve stored in the cellar for several years. In this process, it becomes essential to capture the best of each vintage while avoiding denying the variations specific to each harvest. For this blend, the Chiquet brothers selected 66% of the best Pinot Noir and Meunier grapes from vineyards around the villages of Aÿ, Dizy and Hautvillers, and 34% Chardonnay grapes from vineyards in the villages of Avize and Oiry. This Cuvée comes in 205,164 bottles, 8,082 Magnums and 250 Jéroboams. A final dosage of just 0.75 g/l is reached for this extremely fresh and pleasant Champagne Extra Brut.

Disgorged in February 2021 with 0.75 grams per liter dosage, the NV Extra-Brut Cuvée No. 744 is based on the 2016 vintage. Exhibiting complex aromas of orange oil, crisp stone fruit, fenugreek and subtle hints of yellow Chartreuse, it's medium to full-bodied, pillowy and seamless, with terrific depth at the core, lively acids and a pinpoint mousse. Simultaneously vivid but replete with sapid nuance, this new release throws into relief all the work the Jacquesson brothers have made in the vineyards and cellar over the last two decades. Wine Advocate 94 (cuvee 744)
