Torbreck was founded by David Powell in 1994, their wines have always been something special. Grown on small parcels, the largely old-vine Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre are cropped low and thus yield fruit of extraordinary concentration. David Powell left Torbreck in 2013 and launch a new range of wines "Powell & Son" produced with his son Callum from the Barossa Valley.
Steading - Is composed from the traditional Barossa cultivars of Grenache, Shiraz & Mataro. It has long been a favorite wine within the Torbreck stable because of the old, gnarled ‘bush vines’ that produce its core.
Struie - The Shiraz are sourced from several elevated sites throughout the Barossa & Eden Valleys, the Struie reflects the cooler side of the region and showcases the subtle nuances that are gained from hillside viticulture.
Descendant - This single vineyard wine, located next to our winery block on Roennfeldt Road, was planted in 1994 with cuttings off old RunRig vineyards - some of the oldest genetic material in Australia. The Barossa's first co-fermented Shiraz/Viognier, Descendant has been joined by many more in the last couple of years - a testament to its success.
Factor - Source from great old Shiraz vines of the Barossa Valley and the growers who painstakingly tend and nurture them each year. It displays the concentration & fruit purity that only the most meticulous farming can achieve.
Les Amis - Unique parcel of 100+yrs old Grenache sourced from the devigorated soils of western Seppeltsfield, Les Amis is a testament to what only the most fastidious farming can achieve - purity, intensity and finesse.
