Planted nearly nine centuries ago by Cistercian monks, La Coulée de Serrant has long stood apart as one of the Loire Valley’s most sacred vineyards. In the heart of Savennières, La Coulée de Serrant is both an appellation and a 7-hectare monopole. Since the early 1980s, Nicolas Joly has championed biodynamic viticulture here, proving that true terroir is revealed when soil life and natural rhythms are respected. Renowned for their Chenin Blancs, these wines are complex, vibrant, and built to age. They embody the depth, elegance, and timeless character of one of France’s most historic vineyards.

The 2018 Clos de la Bergerie comes from a 3.5-hectare vineyard that comprises the same soil composition (schist and quartz) as Coulée de Serrant but from vines in deeper soil and on milder slopes, allowing the maturity to peak just slightly later.
