Description

This is a remarkable estate that was created just after the war and which, with Olivier Bonville at the helm, is in its third generation. The estate grew quite quickly so that today it covers over 50 acres of vineyard on the Côte des Blancs. What makes this so special is that all the vines in the villages of Oger, Cramant and Avize are grand cru. Only chardonnay is used for the white wines and this is made into a style that is about finesse and elegance.

Crafted exclusively with Chardonnay planted in the terroir of Avize, the 2016 Grand Cru Millésime from Franck Bonville offers up delicate aromas of white peach, pear, spring flowers and spices mingled with menthol. Medium to full-bodied, round and enveloping with a vinous core of fruit and a delicate, pure and crystalline texture, it’s long and sappy, concluding with a mineral, iodine-inflected finish.
