During the complete reconstruction of the castle in Bela and in accordance with the tradition of the Ullman family, the owner, Countess Ilona von Krockow, together with the renowned German winemaker and family friend Egon Müller, decided to establish a new winery. They renovated the cellar and employed the well-known and respected local winemaker Miroslav Petrech. The winery was founded in 2000. The 300-year-old cellar was completely renovated and equipped with completely new technologies as well as a new warehouse.
Okro’s Wine Zvari Rkatsiteli 2023 is a natural, amber-hued Georgian wine from Kakheti, fermented and aged in traditional qvevri (clay jars). It is known for a highly textured, savory profile featuring aromas of dried apricot and orange, with balanced acidity and a nutty finish, often produced using biodynamic methods.
3 weeks on skins has changed this cuvée a lot since last vintage. Structured tannins and a bolder minerality give this wine a new life as an orange wine, with the same enticing rose gold colour as the past few vintages.
